FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CITIZENS FORUM TO BE HELD IN WINNSBORO

Winnsboro, TX --- Nov 27 –  In honor of the 1st 10 Amendments to the US Constitution, THE BILL OF RIGHTS, Winnsboro Reformed Church will host a celebration and Citizens Forum, Saturday December 15, 2007, 4:00 pm, at the church: 720 East Coke Road Winnsboro  www.winnsboro-reformed.org This special celebration of the Bill of Rights Day is sponsored by the church, along with the Foundation for Christian Alternatives, State, County and City Officials.

When the US Constitution was ratified in 1789, many people were concerned that it did not protect certain freedoms. They thought that the Constitution should be changed or amended to protect these freedoms. On December 15, 1791, ten amendments were added to the Constitution. These amendments guarantee certain freedoms and rights, so they are known as the Bill of Rights.

The celebration of the Bill of Rights -- 216 Years Later will include short presentations by noted elected officials and members of the local Boy Scout Troop, historical facts and music will be presented about the protections afforded to modern day Americans by the Bill Of Rights. Each participant will receive a free copy of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States, with the Bill of Rights.

As a part of the Bill Of Rights Celebrations a “Citizens Forum” may be a part of the program. The general public is being asked to submit material relevant to their view of the need for a Bill of Rights / What the Bill of Rights have meant to them in terms of recent political hopefuls on the Presidential Level.

Any citizen wishing to represent the “positions” of their favorite Presidential Candidate (Democrat, Independent or Republican) should call 903-629-3034 for full details.
